TLC166 Flowers of Course... Inside View

TLC166 Flowers of Course...

I created this for Mondays SCS challenge. I really like this layout and will use it often. Here's the forum thread that has the directions.
This is a flip card that opens two ways! How fun is THAT?!!! This image is (obviously) the card front.

Wildflower Journal

Over at Lizzie Anne Designs the (April)project of the month is this journal. I made mine very similar to the one they featured because I thought theirs (created by Sherry Sheever) was so pretty.
I enjoyed making this so much that I thought I'd do some more this week as little gifts for my friends. I made some subtle changes in mine. For example, I didn't have any white craft paint on hand so I didn't do the wash and instead used cardstock and made it look aged by rubbing the paper with a white Stazon ink pad. I paper pierced mine also. I already have an idea for my second one and can't wait to get started on it!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Every Sunday over at SCS they have a challenge where they feature a different stamper. This week it is sf9erfan (Michelle). Her gallery is amazing! Check it out. Anyway, to do the challenge you have to choose one of her cards and recreate it but change at least two things about it. Here's Michelle's card. This is what I came up with.

So Sorry...

This is a sympathy card I made using the In the Meadow stamp set by Lizzie Anne Designs. Hope your enjoying your weekend.

Happy Friday!

I had to challenge myself to NOT use brown in my card again. I realized that almost everything I created this week had brown in it! What's up with THAT?! I sure can get stuck in a ruts of using the same design, colors, accessories... I'm not sure why though. I have plenty of "stuff"!!! Anyway, I created this card using a stamp set called In the Meadow by Lizzie Anne Designs. I used my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. I love those folders! Great invention... I recently picked up some new ribbon at Michael's and I have been dying to try it.

You're a Hoot!

Okay, I have an announcement. I am not going to buy another stamp until I have made at least three cards with every stamp I own. Uh oh, wait! That could take YEARS! Never mind... I need another bird stamp like I need hole in my head but I went and bought this AWESOME stamp set from one of my favorite craft sellers on E-bay anyway. I couldn't resist it! It's by Inkadinkado.

CC163~Watercolor Garden II

Yesterday's Color Challenge on SCS was to use these three colors: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery. I had to stamp off the pink for the first step to lighten up the color of the flower so that I stayed within the requirements yet got the two shades I needed from it.. The SU designer paper is from last year but I can't seem to recall the name of the collection... I was excited when I found it realizing that this great paper was Chocolate Chip!

Bloomin' Fun Watercoloring

This is another project we made in my Advanced Stampers class I teach at my Park District. We had so much fun with this one! We used the watercoloring with markers technique but used actual watercolor paper. I like the way the paper allows you to move the color around over and over again. It's much for forgiving then other cardstock. Here's a link to the tutorial on this technique from SCS if you'd like to try it. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorialsRecipe:
Stamps: SU Bloomin' Beautiful
Paper: SU Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, SU Bali Breeze Designer, watercolor paper
Ink: Black Stazon
Acccessories: Blender Pens, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Artichoke and Summer Sun markers

True Friend

This is one of the cards we made in my stamp class this week. We did the scallop using a heart punch. We shadowed the "Happy Birthday" by using white first the over stamping with Brocade Blue.

recipe:

Paper: Groovy Guava, Sage Shadow, SU Designer paper

I Have Pansies!

Okay, so the weather has been really dreary around here, until today. We have SUNSHINE! Not just a peek, but a full day of it! So... to celebrate the sunshine I treated myself to a very pretty pot of pansies that were right in front of me as I was walking in the grocery store. I couldn't resist them. I made this card with my new flowers in mind.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Bloomin' Beautiful
Paper: SU Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Almost Amyethyst
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Paper piercer, purple metallic brads, SU Lilac, Lavender Lace, Celery and Really Rust Markers, SU Photo Corner Punch

More Lizzie Anne Designs

This is another card I made with Lizzie Anne's Designs (In the Meadow) set. Okay, so (shh...) here's where I messed up. After I stamped the "thank you" I realized that I used a BIRTHDAY Cuttlebug EF!!! The good news is that I covered up the "birthday" words and only "happy" shows. Please don't tell anyone! ;-)

Just Dreaming...

Well, here we go with another cold, rainy day in the Midwest. Usually by now I am planting pansies and getting my pots ready for planting. Oh well, maybe Spring will come for us NEXT week! I created this card with Spring planting in mind. I used another one of my favorite stamps from Whipper Snapper, designed by Ana Wight (SweetMissDaisy). Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

SC170 Bloomin' Beautiful

I was off today and had some time to just relax and stamp... It was a great day (even though it is dreary and rainy here all day). I did last week's Sketch Challenge from SCS and thought I'd share with you what I created.

Delight in the Ordinary...

This stamp is from Whipper Snapper . It's one of Anna Wight's older designs but I still really love it. I have no idea where I got this little sentiment but it sure says it all to me. You have to enjoy the little day to day things if you want to be a happy person.

Quacked Up

This is a quick birthday card I made using this sweet stamp from Whipper Snapper.

Monday, Monday...

Not a lot to say about (stupid) Mondays! They're always best to me when they're OVER! My work days on Mondays are always very busy with Wednesday deadlines so I really sigh in relief when I shut my office door and start heading toward "freedom". I made some cards over the weekend. I made this for a card order. I, unfortunately, don't have a sister (but I do have two really nice brothers)! This one is from Lizzie Anne Designs.

Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs- In the Meadow, SU Wonderful Favorites
Paper: SU Old Olive, Celery, Amethyst, Lavender Lace, Eggplant, SU Designer Paper
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, markers by Tombow

Wow! It's Sunday Already...

Boy, the weekends sure go by fast, don't they? Like everyone, I have a million things to do but I did stay up late last night and made a few cards. At 2:00 a.m. I had to quit because my eyes were burning and too heavy to continue... Anyway I made another card using Stampin' Up's Embrace Life set. You can find the recipe below. Hope you're enjoying your day!

Stamps: SU Embrace Life, SU Canvas
Paper: Groovy Guava, SU Designer Paper
Accessories: Dots from $1 rack at JoAnn's, Tombow Watercolor Markers, paper piercing tool

SCS Sketch Challenge 168

This is the card I created for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge a few weeks back. I love getting new ideas for sketches. Otherwise, it seems like I get stuck in certain layouts and don't stretch myself enough. I provided the sketch on top if you would like to try it yourself. This is a sketch I think I will use often, plus, it gives me the opportunity to use some beautiful designer papers.

Here's the recipe:

Stamp set: Lizzie Anne Designs (Jolies Fleurs) , Stampin' Up (Small Script)
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip, and Pale Plum.
Deisgner Paper: Basic Grey Archive Collection
Markers: SU Brocade Blue, Pale Plum

Just Delightful

Ahh... It's finally Friday. Now THAT'S delightful! I was looking for something and low and behold this (retired) stamp set from Stampin' Up called Delight in Life LITERALLY dropped down off the shelf on me! How could I NOT create a card with it? (Okay, so my organizational skills might need a little polish. That's beside the point) lol! This is what I came up with.

You're a Swingin' Chick!

Okay, it's not every day that you see a chicken on a swing, right? That's what cracks me up about this stamp. Nothing about it makes sense! It's another Whipper Snapper stamp (which seems to be my unplanned theme this week). Thanks for stopping by today.

Check out my Slide Show!

3-D Daisy

This stamp is from Outline Rubber Stamps http://www.outlinesrubberstamp.com/ This is one of the projects we did in the stamping class I teach and I also used it again when it was my turn to sponsor a project in my monthly stamping group. I LOVE to create dimensional cards. I enjoy all the little details and cutting, etc... It's hard to capture the dimensions in a scan but there are four layers all together. I used SU Celery cardstock along with Brocade Blue (markers also). The leaves are from a Stampin' Up set called Touch of Beauty. I go through phases with the paper piercing and right now I'm enjoying it and want to pierce everything! lol!

Bright Blooms No Doubt

I FINALLY broke down and bought this beautiful stamp set from Lizzy Anne Designs. http://lizzieannedesigns.com/ I like the fresh, clean design of the flowers. I don't normally use bold, bright colors very often for some reason but these are the first colors I invisioned when I started creating this one.
